Cookie & browser storage policy

01What this policy covers

This policy explains cookies and similar browser storage used by the website application. It should be read with the Privacy policy, which covers enquiries and technical connection information. Browser storage is different from server-side consultation records.

02Current preferences

The application does not set advertising, analytics or session cookies. When you choose an appearance, first-party localStorage named “onionpay-theme” stores “light” or “dark”. Its purpose is to remember your requested appearance; it is not a cross-site identifier, is not used for advertising and is not included in the consultation submission.

The preference has no automatic expiry and remains until you change it, remove site data or the browser clears it. Without a saved preference, the website follows your device appearance. English is the default language; the “lang=zh” URL parameter selects Chinese without a language cookie.

03Forms & temporary information

Unsubmitted form fields are not deliberately saved in cookies or localStorage by this application. They may remain in the current page or browser-managed form history. The form sends its contents to the consultation endpoint when you submit. Closing a dialog does not necessarily clear its in-memory state; use your browser’s controls if you want to remove saved form or site data.

04Hosting & external destinations

Hosting and security infrastructure processes request information to deliver and protect the website; the Privacy policy explains that handling. Following an external product or official-resource link takes you to a site with its own storage practices. We do not embed those services’ account sessions in the consultation form.

If a deployed security feature introduces browser storage, its purpose and duration must be disclosed as part of the site’s storage information. We will update this policy and obtain any legally required choice or consent before adding non-essential tracking. A general website visit is not treated as consent to advertising tracking.

05Your choices

Use the theme toggle to change the saved appearance. Your browser’s site-data controls can remove it or block future local storage. The website remains accessible if preference storage is unavailable, although the chosen appearance may not persist. Clearing browser storage does not delete a request already submitted to us; contact the privacy channel for that request.
